In early 2023, we embarked on a full house renovation and expansion project with Landgate Custom Homes, led by the Goepel team. Our experience has been far from satisfactory. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve encountered:

Project Overruns: Our renovation was 50% over budget and 50% behind schedule, while the quality of work was also 50% below our expectations.

Quality Issues: From poorly managed job sites to subpar work due to limited on-site supervision, Landgate’s reliance on subcontractors has led to numerous issues. Our floors, installed in May/June 2023, now have significant gaps and ripples due to delayed HVAC installation. Despite raising our concerns, Landgate has yet to address them satisfactorily.

Unresolved Problems: We received a partial credit for our flooring issues but are still awaiting a full resolution. Our roofing experience was marred by repeated tarp failures and inadequate property care. Additionally, Landgate’s mishandling of our decking material has led to damaged Ipe and poor workmanship.
