From the outset, our experience with Landgate regarding our roof was marked by frustration and disappointment. After the first tarp blew off during the roof removal, Landgate assured us it was an isolated incident, the “first time ever.” However, when it happened again, it became clear that they were not being truthful about the situation. Rather than taking appropriate measures to safeguard our property, it seemed they were more concerned with shifting blame than providing solutions.
As the days turned into weeks, the repercussions of their negligence became increasingly evident. We were promised that Landgate would take immediate action to demo the areas damaged by the tarp failure. Yet, a week passed with no progress, and our dining room ceiling was left in a state of disrepair, falling down and covered in mold. Repeated attempts to get answers from Steve and Ellie Goepel went unanswered, highlighting a complete lack of communication and accountability. This neglect is emblematic of what we’ve experienced since hiring Landgate, leaving us questioning their commitment to quality and care.
The aftermath of Landgate’s tarp failures didn’t just lead to cosmetic damage; it left us dealing with potential safety hazards in our home. Their promises to rectify the situation quickly turned into empty words as we watched the condition of our dining room worsen. The unaddressed mold and structural issues are a testament to Landgate’s failure to follow through on their commitments, leaving us feeling abandoned in a time of need.
In a renovation project, we expect a certain level of professionalism and diligence, especially when it comes to critical elements like the roof. Instead, we were met with delays, excuses, and a lack of transparency. Our experience serves as a cautionary tale for anyone considering Landgate Custom Homes, as the reality of their service falls far short of what they claim to provide.

The following screenshots illustrate our ongoing communication with Landgate regarding the roof damage and their failure to take responsibility for the tarp incidents. These exchanges highlight our attempts to seek resolution and the lack of timely responses from Steve and Ellie Goepel.
Despite our clear concerns about the state of our home, we were met with vague promises and unfulfilled commitments. This serves as a stark reminder of the inadequate service we received and the frustration that came with trying to navigate these issues. We hope that sharing these conversations will shed light on the challenges we faced during our renovation journey and warn others to be cautious when engaging with Landgate Custom Homes.
